Dyson Soft Dusting Brush
The Dyson Soft Dusting Brush –
I LOVE this tool! I use it all the time – it works very well for dusting any flat surface, window-blinds, TV screens, etc.
I do find the suction with the DC07/DC14 is a little too strong for it – it glues itself down onto the surface, and the dust can’t get through the bristles. However, here’s a little trick: unclip the blockage-check valve at the side of the machine, and rest it back into place, but don’t click it down. This should halve the suction and make the tools – especially the Soft Dusting Brush – much more usable!

Is the Dyson Slim vacuum a clutch model or a non-clutch model?
I need to replace the belt in my Dyson Slim vacuum cleaner. Replacement belts appear to be divided into two categories: 1) belts for clutch systems, and 2) belts for non-clutch models. In which category is my Dyson Slim?

Do people know that dyson vacuum cleaners are shit?
I was conversing with a person in the vacuum industry and was informed that they were a bucket of s.h.i.t so don't be fooled by the marketing.
Everyone has their preferences, that's what makes a horserace. I've been in the vac repair business for over 35 years, started out with Electrolux, which at that time was one of the best built, longest lasting, best cleaning machines in the industry. They were 98% American built, using American parts in an American city, by American workers. I've repaired and refurbished, rebuilt, just about every possible brand and type of vacuum, steam cleaner, floor scrubber you can name and the one thing that always seemed to stick in my craw about Dyson, is the flat out, bald faced lies that the bonehead who appears on TV and claims to have designed the thing spouts. He always says, "It can't clog and lose suction because it has no filters." BUNK! I know of at least 3 filters that are available for Dyson's, (you know, the one that doesn't have any filters to clog). That's pretty much the problem with all bagless cleaners. They MUST be filtered someway, or the dust would be pulled through the motor and be pushed out the exhaust, simple physics. One other thing while we're debunking here, the powdered stuff you sprinkle on the carpet and then sweep up to make them smell nice and fresh, will ruin your vacuum. It's like sucking up flour, or plaster dust. It plugs the pores of the bags used to catch it, or the filters on the bagless units, either way it deprives the motor of the air flow it needs to stay cool enough to last.

What do you think of the Dyson vacuum cleaner?
and which one do you have?
thanks!
I wouldn't buy one, I think they're big, ugly and from what I've read not all that reliable.
I've had my Panasonic for years and really like it.
Allergy Buyers Club has some reviewed and so does epinions.com

Servicing a Dyson Vacuum?
Are there alternatives to Dyson dealers that can service a Dyson vacuum without costing me a fortune. My Dyson has lost a bit of suction and we’ve had it about 2-3 years.
This is in San Antonio, Texas
Try fixing it yourself! Loss of suction might be just a matter of cleaning up some part.

What do you think of Dyson vacuum cleaners.?
I own a Dyson and although it is great for picking up pet hair, at almost every other level it is an appalling contraption, cannot overide rugs, will not pick up small bits preferring to push them around the room. The hose ,oh! that bloody hose arrangement, must have been designed to drive us bonkers and why do they have to have that horrendous appearance?
I wanted one but then I heard they aren't all they are cracked up to be. A friend of mine had problems with hers.

Is Dyson vacuum cleaner good?
My 10 year old Dirt Devil finally died on me and I am shopping around for a new vacuum cleaner. Does anyone know a good, high quality, strong suction vacuum cleaner out there? I have been thinking about Dyson Animal, since I have 2 dogs in the house.
Does anyone know if this is a good kind to buy? Or would you recommend something else? Also, if you have a Dyson, how is it working out for you? Is it as great as they say it is?
Any advice is appreciated! thank you. dana
Definitely get the Dyson. We've got a Dyson (yellow) and it works wonderfully! We've got a Labby who sheds enough in a week to put together a whole new puppy and the Dyson stands up to the challenge. We also live in a semi-sandy area and the Dyson keeps the rugs from being gritty. By design the Dyson is modular and you can take it apart where clogs generally occur that decrease suction. If it doesn't clean properly you haven't cleaned it properly. It is also great for people with allergies because it doesn't kick up dust and dirt and put it back into the air.
If you're serious about cleaning, pick up your Dyson today! (Thus ends bound's Dyson infomercial!)
