It is classified as an intelligent vacuum cleaner that relies on sensors to figure its way through your rooms and locate debris. It will remain running as long as the battery lasts, which is normally enough to clean three rooms, before it needs to be recharged.
Instead of sweeping your floors all day, you may want to run the iRobot 110 Dirt Dog Workshop Robot and allow it to pick up every speck of dirt on your floors while you get on with your life. When the job is done you can store it in the cabinet in the house where it will wait until it’s needed once more. Save the Environment with Natural Cleaning Solutions
When it comes to chemical pollution, many people say that heavy industry is most responsible for causing significant damage to our environment. Activists point to the pollution of our waterways and rivers, but it is true to say that homeowners are also contributing to this mess. We should all commit to making a significant change and we can start by using natural cleaning solutions whenever we can.
Did you know that vinegar is one of the greatest natural cleaning solutions. This multipurpose cleaner is completely non-toxic and will not harm your family or pets whatsoever. You should always keep this product on hand as you never know when you might need it — it can be easily picked up at the local store.
Vinegar is one of our top flavor enhancers but it also high on the list of natural cleaning solutions. All you need to do is mix an equal amount of water and apply it to the surface. Use it in your kitchen to clean draws, sinks, cabinets, countertops or appliances.
When considering natural cleaning solutions for your home, remember that prevention is often better than cure. Natural cleaning products can be used to clean up virtually any mess around the house, but if you place an absorbent mat in the areas where spills and leaks are most likely than you would not have to clean up at all. These handy products are made from polypropylene, can soak up to a gallon of any liquid and have a non-leak base. Simply wash them and replace.
Baking soda is one of the best natural cleaning solutions available. It’s very inexpensive and it can be used in almost any situation to clean and deodorize. Just make up a paste using a bit of water and scrub away those stubborn stains.
If you have a stubborn stain that has been caused by fuel, oil or chemical leakage, try and consider using natural cleaning solutions. In the future, place an absorbent mat where these spills are likely, and you might save on damage to the flooring surface.
A simple lemon from the produce store can be cut in half and used with baking soda to remove the stubborn stains and soap scum in your bathroom. You can also combine it with olive oil when looking for natural cleaning solutions for your furniture.
Always consider natural cleaning solutions. Remember that harsh chemicals are included in commercially available products and can cause severe damage when washed down into our waterways. Make sure that you combine the use of natural products with preventative measures such as the placement of an absorbent mat. You will save time, effort and help the environment.

Cleaning Tips From The Atlanta Carpet Cleaning Shop
Is it a hassle keeping up with carpets and making sure they’re cleaned? Everyday we send our professionals from the Atlanta Carpet Cleaning Shop to work at peoples homes, answering that question for them. Often, we like to share our favorite at home tips with our customers so they can enjoy their carpets year round, too. This article collects some of those best tips to share with you!
1. Vacuum your carpet regularly. Regular vacuuming does not mean once a year or once every season or whenever you feel like it. You should vacuum your carpeted floor at least once a week to remove dirt, dust, and other unknown particles. You should pay close attention to areas with high traffic.
2. Buy a door mat for each entrance of the home. This is for people to wipe their feet. Don’t forget that you will also need to clean the door mats regularly too.
3. Don’t forget to vacuum underneath any rugs you have on your carpets. This area needs to get cleaned too! If you wash the rug, let it dry completely before placing it back on the carpet or else it might discolor the floor.
4. Be sure to use mild dish washing soap for stain removal off the carpet. Stronger soaps can just create a stain or faded spot of their own. Be sure to also test this solution is a private spot on the carpet before using it on the stain to ensure it will not cause a further problem with staining!
5. Another carpet cleaning tip is to blot off any spilled liquids immediately using paper towel or clean white cloth. Do not use brush or anything rough because they can affect the texture or fluffiness of your carpet. To remove food or chewing gums which landed on your carpet, use a spatula, spoon, or anything thin and flat to scrape off food and chewing gum from your carpet.
6. No matter what kind of stain you are working with, when cleaning it up, start from the outer edge and work towards the middle. This will ensure the stain doesn’t spread. Sometimes it can dip into non-stained areas if you start from the middle instead.
Carpet cleaning is a fairly straight forward task if you have the right knowledge at your disposal. As you can see, it doesn’t even take spending much money. Using what you already have at home, along with a little elbow grease, can clean most stains from the carpets. Do this and you won’t even have to call the Atlanta Carpet Cleaning shop for help!
Easy Steps to Removing Mold on Walls
To say the least, mold is very annoying. You will find that it grows in some of the most inconvenient places, them worst of these being the walls. If you look closely at your house you will find that the walls make up a very significant part of the entire thing. They are the first thing that people see when they come into your house, and if they happen to be covered with mold then the entire image is ruined.
Moisture buildup in the air is one of the most common causes of mold. When it grows on walls, it is not easy to get rid of it, but not very impossible. With a bit of skill and patience you can get your walls looking good again. Be patient and careful to avoid scraping your walls and causing damage that is unnecessary. There are a few things you need to do to get rid of mold on your walls. This can be a do-it- yourself job, which can be done without the help of a professional.
First, mix a solution of bleach, laundry soap, and hot water. Alternatively, you can go and purchase a mildewcide to rid of the mold, but the most cost efficient and easiest way is to go with the stuff that can most likely be found in your house already.
The next step involves you using a plastic sponge and dipping it into the solution, and gently scrubbing the wall starting from the base and working your way up. Continue this until you see the mold vanishing. You want to visit every wall in your house that has this problem, and give them all a good but gentle scrubbing using as much of the solution as needed.
Next, use a plastic sponge, dip it into the solution, and begin scrubbing the walls that have mold on them. Start from the base of the wall, and work your way up. Continue scrubbing until the mold has dissolved, and repeat this procedure on every wall in your home that has mold on it, using as much of the solution that you need.
Once you are done scrubbing the mold off your walls, the next step is to rinse the solution off the walls because it is strong smelling, potent, and not good to breathe in. To do this, dampen a clean sponge in water and wipe down the walls with the water soaked sponge until the solution is gone.
Getting rid of the mildew is easy, now make sure it stays away so that you can maintain a clean and healthy household for now and for the future.
Identifying Black Mold
Black mold may be the cause of many awful symptoms commonly experienced by people. If your home has had a current dampness problem, and you have symptoms such as chronic fatigue, irritated eyes, or mouth, sneezing, rashes or chronic coughing, chances are you are being plagued by black mold in your home environment. Additionally some symptoms experienced by people have been known to be worse and can include bleeding of the lungs, diarrhea and more. These severe symptoms are brought on by an allergy to the black mold however.
The first step to determining if you’ve got black mold is to, well, look for black mold. Infestations are usually a sort of greenish black smear that can grow on anything – carpet, walls, insulation, even shower curtains. The mold itself is called Strachybotrys chartarum, or Strachybotrys atra, and is listed as a contributing factor to over forty different kinds of lung disorders.
Mold in one’s home is very common. It is not possible to completely sterilize your living environment, and trying to do so can introduce far worse problems than the mold itself. Most molds are not harmful, however that does not mean you should just allow them to keep growing. Instead, as soon as you notice them, deal with them, especially if you are experiencing symptoms associated with mold spores.
Molds (particularly black mold) need moisture and a food source to thrive; black mold is pernicious because it will eat cellulose (or rather, it will consume it as nutrients). This means that black mold can show up where there’s wet wood, damp carpets, even underneath wallpaper. It can also show up in wall paneling, cardboard, ceiling tiles, and nearly anything else that’s used for construction that isn’t glass, ceramic or metal.
If you discover black mold in your home, you first need to determine how bad it is. If the infected area is something you can throw out, rid of it immediately. The problem is not worth keeping in your home. If it is in an area that cannot be removed from your home, then you can treat it with a cup of bleach to one gallon of water with a tablespoon of dish soap or baking soda. Spread the solution over the mold and let it sit for 15 minutes and then wipe it up. Dry the area, and if possible, use a dehumidifier.
When you have dealt with the mold, take steps to prevent it from reoccurring. Keep the humidity to a minimum in areas susceptible to moisture such as the bathroom and kitchen, and well-ventilated and clean well with bleach in those areas.
Sadly, black mold in carpeting or in the insulation on walls is not remedied with bleach, and usually requires you to throw it out and replace it. If the black mold is reoccurring, the best idea is to call a building inspector, and have them advise you on cleaning contractors or building contractors.
Black mold in the home can potentially be a big problem. Households with children and elderly people with asthma and people with weak immune systems are typically prone to experiencing the most severe reactions.
Celebrate Cultural Diversity With Ethnic Ornaments
In our research, we were surprised at how many ornaments vendors offer ethnic ornaments ranging from African American ballerinas to Scottish Highlander Santas to Aztec Calendar ornaments and more. These include ethnic ornaments handmade by the local artisans in many different countries as well as in the United States.
In the past, it was actually pretty rare to find African American ornaments or Native American ornaments, but in the last few years the selection of ethnic Christmas Ornaments continues to increase. That pleasing change is a testimony to the inclusiveness and “one world” attitude of more and more people around the world.
Many ornaments merchants in the United States have noticed that ornaments collectors and gift buyers are looking for something more than just the traditional red and green ornaments, and they have commissioned designs that reflect the surge in requests for more diverse ornaments. There is also a trend for people to decorate with ornaments year round, and hanging an ethnic ornament above your desk or placing a figurine ornament in your living room is a beautiful way to make a statement of pride or support. There are so many pretty ethnic ornaments today that it is easy to find one that you want to keep near just because it is beautiful or gives you a feeling of nostalgia. You may also want to vary which ornaments you display from time to time and that is a great way to introduce children to different cultures.
Although most of us tend to think of ethnic as any minority group, the word ethnic comes from the Greek word ethnikos and can refer to any group that may have ties of ancestry, culture, language, nationality, race or religion, or even a combination of these attributes. That pretty much includes all of us and ornaments stores will be adding more ethnic ornaments as the word gets out that ethnic ornaments are important to consumers and more ethnic ornaments are designed.
Step out and embrace new and old traditions with ethnic ornaments. You will have fun choosing ornaments from your own culture or ancestry as well as adding ornaments from cultures with which you may be less familiar.
Carpet Cleaning Tips From Atlanta Cleaners
If you have small children, you know it’s probably a relief to have carpet on your floors instead of a rough hardwood floor that they can (and probably will) bump their head on. The only bad part of having little kids and carpets is this means they are going to be spilling juice and food and other stuff on the carpets, causing a headache while you try and clean up the mess off the carpets.
Fortunately, there are many ways to clean your carpet using household products! These practical cleaning tips can be implemented using items already found in your home without buying any additional cleaning tools. Here are 3 of the most popular ones.
1. To make a general stain remover solution, mix together water with a dish washing soap of your choice that is free of bleach and alkaline chemicals. (Otherwise you run the risk of discoloring the carpet.) Blot the stained carpeted area with the solution and then rub it with a brush. Wipe off any extra solution with a towel. This will remove many different types of stains.
2. Bleach stains on the carpet can be removed using the solution just described. Using this solution, blot the stained area where you are doing the carpet cleaning job. Then let it sit for 5 or 6 minutes. Repeat until the stain is gone. Be sure to start from the outside of the bleached area and work inward. Once removed, blot with cold water and wipe clean with a paper towel.
3. Chewing gum is very difficult to remove once it accidentally lands on your carpet floor. However, this carpet cleaning task is not impossible. All you need to do is to try to scrape off the chewing gum using a flat and thin object like a spatula. First, use a small brush to remove any gum debris. Rub the spot with ice placed inside a plastic bag to harden the leftover gum. Once the remaining gum on the carpet has been frozen, then scrape it off using a spatula. Finally, prepare a mixture of water and dish washing soap and apply this on the spot. Continuously blot and rinse with water once you are sure that no trace of gum can be found on the spot.
