Get A Carpet Steam Cleaner – Your Rugs Will Love You

As anyone who has ever had a room sized rug or wall to wall carpeting will attest, cleaning rugs can be a real problem. Commercial cleaners you can rent at a grocery store typically do more harm than good simply because of the soap suds that never get picked back up again. And professional companies that promise amazing results all too often just fail to deliver.

Industries have known for years that steam is the perfect cleaning agent for so many fabrics and other items. An entire house can be steam cleaned inside and out with the right tools. Before using steam cleaning on a new item, though, do a test on a small inconspicuous part to make sure it’s steam friendly.

Steam cleaning is probably the best way to remove stubborn and set in stains. Anything from dried blood, red wine, grease, grass and even mud can be loosened and removed easier with steam. Although these stains can occur anywhere, steam cleaning works best on rugs or upholstery.

The commercial machines available for rent are not from the steam cleaner variety. These machines only mix soap with room temperature that is squeezed through brushes and spread over the rugs. Unfortunately, all these machines do is move dirty soapy water from one place to another without removing it from the carpeting. After a few of these shampoos, the carpet fibers are severely damaged by the buildup of soap and dirt.

Most machines that produce high powered steam have multiple reservoirs for water, soap and waste water. You should plan on spending about $300 for a good machine that will stand up to multiple uses and have all the reservoirs you need. There are lower priced machines that do clean, but other than producing the steam and perhaps mixing it with a cleaning solution, they don’t have the ability to remove the dirty water from the surface that you are cleaning.

The first time you use it you will be amazed at the amount of dirt that is removed. For particularly dirty areas, the improvement will be almost instantaneous. Occasionally you may need to clean a rug twice but rest assured that the rug won’t be damaged. All the liquid will be removed quickly so as not to cause any mildew or damage.

They clean up easily. The reservoirs can be removed quickly, rinsed, and replaced. Brushes are simple to detach and many are even dishwasher safe.

Keep in mind that these machines are pretty noisy, so plan accordingly.

Save Money on the Life of Your Carpet

Every home deserves great looking and luxurious feeling carpet. Beautiful carpet is a large investment and should be maintained properly to get the most life out of the investment. This article will explain how you can treat your carpets for maximum life expectancy.

Vacuum your carpets often. Everyone tracks in mud, dirt, and sand from time to time. You should be more concerned about this getting in your carpet than the dreaded coffee or wine stains. Sand is very abrasive and can shred your carpeting into shreds. Once this happens the carpet has to be replaced. Worn and torn carpet is also more susceptible to mold and other problems.

Shoes are your worst enemy. When I was a kid, I thought my mom wanted me to take off my shoes so they didn’t leave tracks in the carpet. It is actually because sand and silt will fall right off shoes and into the carpet. Having your family take off their shoes when they come in will save you money in the long run!

A great area rug can be functional as well beautiful. Place area rugs in places of your home where you get lots of foot traffic. This is usually wherever the TV and DVD player is. These rugs will also prevent sand and dirt from shredding up your carpets.

Rubbing stains will make them permanent. The ideal way to remove stains from coffee, cola, juice, or make up is to blot it out with a wet towel or rag. Careful dabs will not force the staining substance into the fibers of the carpet. You should also remove stains as quickly as possible.

Another fantastic method of keeping dirt and sand out of the house is using door mats. This keeps the mess outside and away from the floor. Use a mat and ever entrance into your home and put up a sign as a reminder to use them. Remember to replace mats when they become full.

When you apply chemicals to your carpet, use them properly. Some chemicals may damage your carpet or fade the colors. Ask a clerk which chemical is right for you and always be sure to spot test before you apply. It is a good idea to ask the contractor for a scrap when they lay your carpet for spot testing.

Don’t forget to schedule regular maintenance. Just like cars, your carpet should be treated by a professional from time to time. We recommend a treatment every six months. This way you get sand and dirt that can’t be removed by the vacuum and they can deodorize and refresh your floors.

With 13+ years of Boise carpet cleaning experience, we know how to take care carpets! Don’t leave your job to just any boise carpet cleaner, trust your home to the best!

My Mom has the DC15 and I love it, but would the DC18 slim have the same suction power?

I have the animal one (purple) and I love it.Had it for 3 years now and it has great suction. I think it has more then the others since it is designed to pick up pet hair.

Things Older Generations are Teaching The Younger Generations in This Tough Economy

Todays generation is an instant gratification generation. When they desire something, they want right away and many times values a newer item versus a better quality item. Several adults would be surprised to find out that in a recent study,a group of teens and twenty something said that when an item in your house breaks, like an appliance, they would simply go purchase a new one. They have no idea that the concept of fixing something you already own is an option Today with the struggling economy this younger generation are learning how to be more frugal from the older generations that have been doing just that all along.

For example, if your vacuum breaks you must visit a vacuum repair shop and take a look at vacuum parts and vacuum pumps that may need to be replaced. This article will describe more ways our youth is now learning from the older ones on ways to be more frugal.

The amount of credit cards owned by those under 30 years old is astronomically high. Several of these young adults were handed credit cards at the age of 18. They were lured by the credit card companies that gave many of them gifts or prizes if they did sign up to receive a card. A lot of these young teens were incapable of knowing how to be financially responsible. But, they did understand that they had a credit card with a high limit that would allow|could have| them topurchase anything they desired at the time. They would then simply pay the bare minimum requirement each month resulting in an increasing debt that soon got out of control.

This credit card fed on the instant gratification of these younger people and reflects strongly the issues with our economy today. People are having greater amounts of debt at younger ages than ever before. They now need to learn how to change that.

Many bad things have a silver lining and this recession may be one of those examples. The financial hardships have forced several citizens that were living much past their means to take a good hard look at themselves and their spending. They are now wanting the advice of their elders to assist them in how to be financially smart. One lesson is to pay off and get rid of their credit cards and to just use them for An emergency. This is tough for a lot of people but it will help them realize that they can only buy something if they have the cash for it at that time. Another thing they are learning is to take care of the things that you do own. When somethings breaks like a TV, an appliance or even your car, take it to get fixed instead of buying a new one. If you absolutely have to buy a new item, invest in a better made item that will last many years instead of cheaper made product that will break after one year. This is how to be more frugal in todays society.

Chuck R. Stewart recently purchased vacuum parts online for a very old sweeper that he keeps in his office. He purchased vacuum pumps online for a very old machine he was trying to fix.
