What are the top vacuum cleaners reported by Consumer Reports this year?
I need a new vacuum cleaner for my home. We DON’T have pets. I’d prefer a lightweight vac. We had the CR magazine issue with the reviews a few months back but I must’ve lost it or thrown it out. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
I’m impressed with Dyson. It’s not too heavy to drag around and it has no bags to empty. You just remove the top section and chuck out the dust. It does a brilliant job.
Should I buy a Dicen Vacuum Cleaner?
I’m big on Consumer Reports….and Dicen doesn’t score big. The Sears Kenmore scores much better and is less money.
I have two cats and an older home…I want a vacuum that will do a good job and is great with attachments that are simple to use.
Which Dyson are you looking at? I love mine – it’s the best vacuum I’ve ever had. I have a cat and dog and never have a problem picking up the hair.
ok what is the best vacuum cleaner for your home?
i have the consumer report book and the one they recommended has gotten alot of complaints.
This month’s Consumer Reports magazine had a review of different vacuums. They tested over 60 models and determined that the Kenmore Progressive model 35922 at $300 was best on the market. However a Hoover Tempo Widepath u5140-900 was listed 6th and only costs $60. The Kenmore rated 75 points overall and the Hoover was 66points. The Kenmore did rate higher for pet hair though.
Hope this helps. Go by you local bookstore and check out the magazine, that way you can see everyone that was tested.
What Consumer Reports will not tell you!
Consumer Reports rates almost every vacuum’s omissions with an excellent rating. In reality, all the vacuum cleaners rated have poor emissions– spitting the dirt, dust, and bacteria right back OUT into your home.

Miele Vacuum Cleaners Work. Miele Vacuums are Truly HEPA.
Miele HEPA vacuum cleaners are sealed systems http://www.killdirt.com/Miele_S7_Vacuum_Cleaner_s/130.htm. Unlike other vacuum imposters, they truly trap the dust, pollen spores, mold spores and allergen particles. You won’t be in for hidden costs of repair as the Miele lasts for a lifetime. Watch the Miele Aquarious or Miele Calisto and you will be amazed at how well it decontaminates your home environment.

Dirt Devil Vacuum Does NOT Trap The Dust
Through a particulate analysis, this video shows mold spores, pollen spores, dirt, dust and contaminants leaking out of the Dirt Devil Cyclonic Vacuum Cleaner. Watch and learn as I perform a side-by-side comparison with the Miele Aquarious. My findings prove that the Miele Vacuum is completely sealed and truly is HEPA sealed. Wouldn’t you rather have a vacuum cleaner that is sealed?
