Dyson DC05 vacuuming
This is the machine I now have to use as my DC04 has burnt out. I will use this one until I have fixed the DC04. I don’t really like using cyliner cleaners as with uprights I feel they are easier to control and the head allows a bigger coverage than cylinders.
This DC05 I have had for 5 years and this machine had burnt out but I repaired it with a new motor and its been fine since.

With regards to …
With regards to balancing on the stairs ive never had a problem with it balancing. Maybe ur stairs are a different size? lol Only thing is if its not balannced after pulling up then the machine falls back and also the dirt all spins about scratching the clear bin so it looks cloudy.

I don’t use the DC03 as I have used this to clean a dentist and wont want to use this in the house. Also the filters are very dirty and old in the DC03 and after I used zorb on the DC03 I was appauled at the poor performance of the DC03 – It left soo much zorb in the carpet, had to use the DC04 to pull up the remaining 1/3 bin load.
Also the DC03 smells bad , this cos the filters are old. I just leave it in the garage, its fine there.

I bought the turbobrush from Comet back in 2003 or 2004 as I don’t like just plain suction on carpets. Suction alone doesn’t clean carpets properly and I noticed the DC05 works better with the turbobrush on. I use it with the turbobrush now as the DC04 is waiting for me to fix it I need to use the DC05 in the meantime and will not use it with the standard head as its harder to use and doesn’t clean as well. The turbobrush is fine on our hard floors too.

Yeah, its designed …
Yeah, its designed to follow you up the stairs. I saw this in the first Dyson DC05 brochure it says the DC05 can follow you up so I pull it up without a problem, I think this is why the hose is where it is and to make turning it easier. Though a few times the DC05 has fallen back as it hasn’t quite balanced itself after I pulled it up.
