Is there any vacuum cleaner that can compare to the Dyson Animal that has a smaller price tag?

I hear the Dyson Animal vacuum is the best thing out there but it has a very tall price tag.Is there anything similar that performs just as well that isnt so pricey?

Nothing really compares to Dyson vacuum cleaners. They are high priced because they are the best – their especially helpful to those who have asthma as they pick up virtually everything (dust mites etc). They pick up so much from deep in the carpet – I've yet to see another one like that.

You could try the cheaper end of the Dyson "family". I own one myself and wish I would have got one years ago. Even the lower end of the scale is better than the other brand of vacuums.

Like pookyluc said, try ebay or other online places if you can if it works out cheaper.

go to the Electrolux store and buy a used reconditioned, they run forever and do a great job, otherwise, just suck it up and get a Dyson, we love it.

Try the Rainbow vaccuum. It works with water and lasts FOREVER. It is very very durable and cleans like nothing else.

The best is a Kirby. The latest model is the Sentria. But any model works just as well. Theres no vaccum that could compare to it. The cheapest way to buy is on Ebay.

I filled mine up just doing the lounge-room floor first time I used it. I had to do it twice (like most do on the first go) as it picked up so much.

oh yes there is. I'm a vacuum technician at a vacuum and sewing repair shop and i see every type of vacuum cleaner. Try a Riccar Vibrance Standard. It has WAAAAY more airflow (rated in cfm) then the dyson . You can't go by the motor rating because the dyson has a 12 amp motor just like every other vacuum. You have to physically but a meter on the end of the hose and you'll find a Riccar Vibrance series, or any bagged machine for that matte, will have tripple the air flow. The dyson has good sealed suction but you need both. As far as durability, the dyson is one of the cheapest vacuums i have worked on. A Riccar Vibrance will last AT LEAST twice as long. And contrary to one of the answers above, the reason the dyson fills up with dirt so fast isn't because its picking so much dirt up, its because the cyclonic action puffs up the dirt inside the cup filling it 5 times faster then a bagged vacuum.

There are many good vacuums out there, don't fall prey to the great advertising that dyson has. Check out the Riccar Vibrance Standard. It retails for under $400.00

The sebo G1 is also good, but starts at 550.00 but that vacuum is an entire league above the dyson

    Best of luck

Hi, A friend who has pets bought a Eureka boss smart vac ultra 4870 and she loves it. She said it was recommended by a leading consumer magazine and rated right up there with higher priced vacuums. It outperformed the Dyson animal for picking up pet hair. It was priced around 150.00 and really cleans carpets and bare floors with the flick of a switch. Has hepa filtration, 8 carpet settings, convenient tools and ability to control suction when using tools. Hope this helps
