Similarly, the carpet fades away with too sun on drying and sometimes fungus starts growing on it.

If fungus does not grow, then in areas with too much sun, if the carpet is left wet for days, the color of the carpet fades away. And the odor a wet carpet starts giving is so unpleasant that you cannot stay in the room. If these are bedrooms where you have to sleep, it becomes an impossible task. Tips For Choosing a Carpet Cleaning Shampoo

If you talk to anyone who knows much about carpet shampoos, youll hear them talk about foam, anti-resoiling additives and optical brighteners. Regular carpet shampooing will extend your carpet lifespan, provided you know your shampoo, and you’ve asked the right questions about whats actually in the carpet shampoo you’re about to use on your carpets. Do your shampoo research, but also check with the carpet manufacturer for recommendations. And then go to a specialty shop, and ask for an ecologically-friendly carpet shampoo. You want an effective product that’s safe.

Here are three pointers when it comes to choosing a carpet shampoo:

No. 1: Choose a foam generator. Carpet shampoos ware supposed to be foamy, or rather theyre supposed to create thick foam because its the foam which will attract the dirt particles in your carpet pile. Then once the dirty foam has dried, the residue can be vacuumed away. This means the more long-lasting foam, the more effective your carpet cleaning will be. Look for a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate in the list of ingredients on the bottle. This ingredient is similar to what you find in hair shampoos.

No. 2: Make sure your shampoo has an anti-resoiling additive. One major concern about all carpet shampoos is the possibility of resoiling, which is when the carpet shampoo leaves behind a sticky residue, which actually attracts more dirt. If you’ve inherited an old carpet as a family heirloom, you might actually want to rent a shampoo machine and clean it with warm water and vinegar (1 cup vinegar per 2 ” gallons of water) as the vinegar pulls out the old shampoo.

No. 3: Avoid shampoos with optical brighteners or with high levels of brighteners. The brightener is actually a dye added to the shampoo to create a temporary brightening effect. This can cause permanent yellowing of the fibres.

Carpets need shampooing or cleaning every 12 to 18 months, and they also need spot cleaning. And if you get a stain, you want to deal with it immediately so the dirt does not get too deep into the pile. For stains, just blot them, rather than rubbing them, or you’ll damage the fibre. Apparently shaving cream works wonders on food stains and club soda helps remove red wine stains. Similarly baking soda helps remove carpet odors, and ice cubes help freeze gum so that you can scrap the gum off with a kitchen knife.

House Party? Your Carpets will Probably Need Some Work

When it comes to the weekend in New York, the fun is about to begin and people are ready to enjoy their few days of freedom from their regular jobs. Most people will wait until the weekend to do their going out.

The weekend can bring many options when it comes to fun and going out, there are tons of places that you can go including bars, clubs, parties, and other social things. If youre looking for fun in the Charlotte NC area you can find whatever you want and find tons of different reasons to go out and have a blast, but with this fun comes a lot of mess and spills. Lots of these spills will be quick and easy to clean up for you, but when it comes to the deep ground in stains it might take a little more effort to clean up.

Hosting a party that many people attend is hard to do but can be done with a popular host. It is always nice to have many people at your place, a large number of people adds to the wear that the carpet takes as they come and go, congregate and circle a room. Wear is a result of big groups of people, due to their footwear being dirty and from the many places that they have been, inside and out, and scuffs, marks and stains can be visible after your event due to all of this dirt entering your home and being tracked around.

When alcohol starts flowing at parties, good times will proceed to happen and then no one knows what could happen next. There are always a few that take the drinking game to the ridiculous level, and that ups the chance that someone will start to get sick and possibly vomit. Throw up is one of the harder things to clean up, and also one of the grosser things to deal in life.

Cleaning up a mess like this is gross, but it also is necessary due to the fact that vomit contains acids that may have a negative impact on your carpet. Vomit can deteriorate your carpet and smell horribly if not removed immediately.

Lots of drinks that are enjoyed at parties are colorful for flair and show while also being delicious. These types of drinks do cause problems because they are definitely not easy to clean up after they have been spilled and left on the carpet. Food is also a problem when it happens to a catered event that can be spilled on the floor and cause stains. When people walk over stains and grind them into the ground the stains will become harder and harder to remove. Usually it is easier for the party thrower to hire a company to clean the next day to make sure all the stains are removed.

A party at your residence can be a great time, except for the day after clean up that is required to make your place hospitable again. Calling a Charlotte Carpet Cleaning company could really help you out and make your life much easier.

Save Money on the Life of Your Carpet

Every home deserves great looking and luxurious feeling carpet. Beautiful carpet is a large investment and should be maintained properly to get the most life out of the investment. This article will explain how you can treat your carpets for maximum life expectancy.

Vacuum your carpets often. Everyone tracks in mud, dirt, and sand from time to time. You should be more concerned about this getting in your carpet than the dreaded coffee or wine stains. Sand is very abrasive and can shred your carpeting into shreds. Once this happens the carpet has to be replaced. Worn and torn carpet is also more susceptible to mold and other problems.

Shoes are your worst enemy. When I was a kid, I thought my mom wanted me to take off my shoes so they didn’t leave tracks in the carpet. It is actually because sand and silt will fall right off shoes and into the carpet. Having your family take off their shoes when they come in will save you money in the long run!

A great area rug can be functional as well beautiful. Place area rugs in places of your home where you get lots of foot traffic. This is usually wherever the TV and DVD player is. These rugs will also prevent sand and dirt from shredding up your carpets.

Rubbing stains will make them permanent. The ideal way to remove stains from coffee, cola, juice, or make up is to blot it out with a wet towel or rag. Careful dabs will not force the staining substance into the fibers of the carpet. You should also remove stains as quickly as possible.

Another fantastic method of keeping dirt and sand out of the house is using door mats. This keeps the mess outside and away from the floor. Use a mat and ever entrance into your home and put up a sign as a reminder to use them. Remember to replace mats when they become full.

When you apply chemicals to your carpet, use them properly. Some chemicals may damage your carpet or fade the colors. Ask a clerk which chemical is right for you and always be sure to spot test before you apply. It is a good idea to ask the contractor for a scrap when they lay your carpet for spot testing.

Don’t forget to schedule regular maintenance. Just like cars, your carpet should be treated by a professional from time to time. We recommend a treatment every six months. This way you get sand and dirt that can’t be removed by the vacuum and they can deodorize and refresh your floors.

Cleaning an Area Rug

If you want to clean an area rug (which is small carpet or rug) you should know that rug and carpet cleaning is a simple process that can be applied to virtually all sized rugs and carpets.

Should you clean an area rug by yourself? If you hire a professional rug or carpet cleaner what you are essentially going to pay for is convenience since you can easily get the same results that they get with their equipment. They are recommended if you need to clean a very big rug, which isn’t the case with small area rugs.

The first thing you should do, before getting the stains off of your carpet, is vacuuming. After that, apply a spot treatment to the stains. If you are not satisfied with the results, you’re going to have to get more intense.

If you search for a carpet cleaner online or in some home improvement stores you’re going to find devices that look like vacuum cleaners, which are called steam cleaners by their producers. You should know that they use no steam whatsoever. The proper name for them would be hot water extractors. Although they don’t use steam, they are very effective in getting rid of rug or carpet stains.

What if you want something more powerful than one of those steam cleaners? Or what if you dont want to pay around $200 to get one? Both of these problems can be solved by renting a more powerful hot water extractor, which you can get at your local grocery store, home improvement store, or UHAUL. They look like mini refrigerators and will cost you roughly $20 for an hours use. They are essentially retail hot water extractors on steroids.

The hot water extractors, which you can rent, are the same ones used by many professional rug or carpet cleaning companies. As such, you can save your money by renting these machines. Some professional carpet cleaners also use steam, which is effective in making a carpet look like new. Regardless, a steam cleaning isn’t going to get you that much better results that a rented or retail hot water extractor.

Cleaning Tips From The Atlanta Carpet Cleaning Shop

Is it a hassle keeping up with carpets and making sure they’re cleaned? Everyday we send our professionals from the Atlanta Carpet Cleaning Shop to work at peoples homes, answering that question for them. Often, we like to share our favorite at home tips with our customers so they can enjoy their carpets year round, too. This article collects some of those best tips to share with you!

1. Vacuum your carpet regularly. Regular vacuuming does not mean once a year or once every season or whenever you feel like it. You should vacuum your carpeted floor at least once a week to remove dirt, dust, and other unknown particles. You should pay close attention to areas with high traffic.

2. Buy a door mat for each entrance of the home. This is for people to wipe their feet. Don’t forget that you will also need to clean the door mats regularly too.

3. Don’t forget to vacuum underneath any rugs you have on your carpets. This area needs to get cleaned too! If you wash the rug, let it dry completely before placing it back on the carpet or else it might discolor the floor.

4. Be sure to use mild dish washing soap for stain removal off the carpet. Stronger soaps can just create a stain or faded spot of their own. Be sure to also test this solution is a private spot on the carpet before using it on the stain to ensure it will not cause a further problem with staining!

5. Another carpet cleaning tip is to blot off any spilled liquids immediately using paper towel or clean white cloth. Do not use brush or anything rough because they can affect the texture or fluffiness of your carpet. To remove food or chewing gums which landed on your carpet, use a spatula, spoon, or anything thin and flat to scrape off food and chewing gum from your carpet.

6. No matter what kind of stain you are working with, when cleaning it up, start from the outer edge and work towards the middle. This will ensure the stain doesn’t spread. Sometimes it can dip into non-stained areas if you start from the middle instead.

Carpet cleaning is a fairly straight forward task if you have the right knowledge at your disposal. As you can see, it doesn’t even take spending much money. Using what you already have at home, along with a little elbow grease, can clean most stains from the carpets. Do this and you won’t even have to call the Atlanta Carpet Cleaning shop for help!

Carpet Cleaning Tips From Atlanta Cleaners

If you have small children, you know it’s probably a relief to have carpet on your floors instead of a rough hardwood floor that they can (and probably will) bump their head on. The only bad part of having little kids and carpets is this means they are going to be spilling juice and food and other stuff on the carpets, causing a headache while you try and clean up the mess off the carpets.

Fortunately, there are many ways to clean your carpet using household products! These practical cleaning tips can be implemented using items already found in your home without buying any additional cleaning tools. Here are 3 of the most popular ones.

1. To make a general stain remover solution, mix together water with a dish washing soap of your choice that is free of bleach and alkaline chemicals. (Otherwise you run the risk of discoloring the carpet.) Blot the stained carpeted area with the solution and then rub it with a brush. Wipe off any extra solution with a towel. This will remove many different types of stains.

2. Bleach stains on the carpet can be removed using the solution just described. Using this solution, blot the stained area where you are doing the carpet cleaning job. Then let it sit for 5 or 6 minutes. Repeat until the stain is gone. Be sure to start from the outside of the bleached area and work inward. Once removed, blot with cold water and wipe clean with a paper towel.

3. Chewing gum is very difficult to remove once it accidentally lands on your carpet floor. However, this carpet cleaning task is not impossible. All you need to do is to try to scrape off the chewing gum using a flat and thin object like a spatula. First, use a small brush to remove any gum debris. Rub the spot with ice placed inside a plastic bag to harden the leftover gum. Once the remaining gum on the carpet has been frozen, then scrape it off using a spatula. Finally, prepare a mixture of water and dish washing soap and apply this on the spot. Continuously blot and rinse with water once you are sure that no trace of gum can be found on the spot.
