Carpet Cleaning Tips For Red Dye

Stains on your rug can impact the visual appeal of your entire household. You are certain to want to avoid them. But at times rug stains are unavoidable, even for the most careful homeowner.

Good thing for you you will find techniques for neutralizing and usually times eradicating these type of difficulties. Not all stains are created equal. And for those stubborn spots a professional carpet cleaner can generally be known as in to tackle the situation. Even though qualified carpet cleaners are good at what they do, they are not magicians.

What customers have to understand is you can find numerous things that may cause a permanent stain in their carpet. These incorporate items with color for instance red, yellow, blue, or green. These stains are usually brought on by dyes and are only eliminated around 10-20% in the time. You’ll find dye removal processes but these can occasionally get a minor intense and may well occasionally cost a tiny much more.

If you’ve rust, grease and oils stains, or just dirty areas then you are most likely to be in pretty very good shape. Rust can generally be taken out with specialized rust removers. Olefin cleaner, POG (paint, oil, grease) removers, and volatile solvents are typically utilized to treat food grease, motor oils, and other similar spots. The colour on the carpet is an significant factor when dealing with dirty site visitors lanes. These areas are typically pre-treated with some visitors lane cleaner before making use of olefin cleaner and rinsing 2-3 times. And since it is really a high targeted visitors region, there’s probably already damage for the carpet fibers, which can’t be repaired. You may well end up with some permanent discoloration if the carpet is usually a light colour. Darker carpets may possibly be able to hide enough discoloration that when treated they appear entirely corrected.

Spots caused by furniture stain, red dye, and bleach are nearly impossible to obtain out. Furniture stain can be treated with POG removers or stain magic but, depending on the carpet, it would be like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Red dye stains consist of crayon, make-up, kool-aid, cat vomit, and fiberglass insulation. To eliminate red dye stains you basically have to have every condition to be ideal. The removal of red dye normally requires a heat transfer method. Part of this course of action involves applying a cleaning item towards location and then covering it with a wet towel.

An iron is then employed to attempt to get the area to transfer from the carpet to the towel. The spot is then rinsed thoroughly. It’s a neat tiny trick when it works. It is not uncommon to lose some carpet dye in this practice without obtaining the red dye out. Mainly because of this, heat transfer is usually saved until all other options have been exhausted. Unfortunately bleach is typically permanent. With bleach you essentially have a stain that isn’t truly a stain per se. It’s a location where colour has been removed. So you genuinely can’t eliminate what isn’t there. With bleach spots you will likely need to location dye the location to correct the issue.

Carpet stains are devious tiny creatures. Whenever you believe you’ve finally got one figured out, it proves you wrong. Qualified carpet cleaners have the ability to handle most spots and stains that occur but you’ll find never any guarantees. From time to time you may encounter a place that can not be treated. That’s just how the cookie crumbles. Just remember to contact a expert and let them give it a go just before resorting to any drastic measures.

Tips To Use Mixing Carpet Cleaner At Home

Dark colored carpets may be easier to clean or to hide stains on. It is always important and vital to check on the components and uses of the carpet cleaner you buy so that you do not make things worse with your carpet. A stain that is too penetrated or has extended all the way to the bottom fibers of the carpet is a tough one to handle and requires special attention.

Usually carpet cleaners for light colored carpet are stronger than those used for dark colored carpets. It is important that when something falls onto your carpet, that you clean it immediately. It is important to stop the penetration of the liquid as soon as possible. Once the liquid has penetrated the fibers which make up the carpet it is harder to remove it.

Deep cleaning is a process by which steam is shot through the carpet fibers all the way to the floor underneath and all the dirt and any other foreign substance is absorbed into the machine. Deep cleaning uses special carpet cleaners that penetrate every fiber of the carpet separating the soil and dirt from the fibers cleaning them permanently.

When a carpet is made with different fibers and different dyes it is not possible to ensure that cleaning it with a particular carpet cleaner will not fade the colors or specific areas of fiber. If you have a stain and the carpet below it has different dyes or fibers it is possible in the first place that the stain cannot be removed or it is removed partially making matters worse.

Most carpets today are made with artificial fibers which are easy to clean and retain their color without problem. Now it is always good to take precautions and test the carpet cleaner in a small portion of the carpet before applying it to larger sections. When you have a stain it is important not to concentrate your cleaning to the small area where the stain is located.

It is also possible to buy synthetic fiber carpets that are stain proof. It is almost impossible to stain them with anything. The feeling of walking on them or lying down on them is different though. They are not warm and soft but cool and feel like plastic. It is just a matter of taste, they look very much like the original cotton fibered carpets but it does not feel the same.

If you clean only the area that is stained the remaining carpet will still be dirty when you are done removing the stain. You may not notice the difference close up but if you back away you will be able to see the clean spot on the otherwise dirty carpet. It is necessary to clean the whole thing so that there is no visible difference between one place and another.

Always be careful when using carpet cleaners or stain removers on your carpets. Many of these are extremely aggressive and may damage certain types of carpets and fibers. Most of those sold commercially are adequate for most types of fibers and dyes but others are not. Check with the store or person who sold you the carpet to make sure what carpet cleaner you should use for this specific material.

Some Vacuum Cleaner Shopping Tips For You

Choosing a vacuum cleaner used to be easy, they all had bags and were all pretty similar, so the question was just which brand did you like the best and which was the best value for money. Now the vacuum cleaner market has exploded, primarily I think because of the introduction of the bagless cleaner by Dyson. That sparked a wave of creativity from the other manufacturers to try and keep up with this radical new design.

So the once humble design of the vacuum cleaner has now changed and you can find them in bright colours and weird shapes to compliment their new wild sounding names and wonderful new attachments. Yet do we need all this new technology? Most people were happy with their old vacuums that did the job without any fuss. Below we look at the main options you have now when you go shopping for a vacuum cleaner:

Bagless: The original design by Dyson to do away with the bag in a vacuum cleaner was supposed to solve the problem of a your unit with a bag losing power as the bag fills up with dirt, and it turned the industry on its head when it launched. The jury is still out though as to whether there is any significant benefit to the technology, and if there is one then if it outweighs the drawbacks. For instance if you have allergies then the fact you have to empty all the dust and dirt out into a bag or bin when it is full is a lot messier than just throwing away a full bag like with a normal model.

Upright: This is the traditional design for a vacuum cleaner, whether bagged or bagless. The upright structure allows you to easily push and pull the unit to clean large areas of floor, and you can get easy access to all the attachments that come with it and to the bag/container when it needs emptying.

Canister vacuum: This design is made for getting into hard to reach places in houses without a lot of open floor space. The actual mechanics of the unit are all contained in a little canister on the floor and then a long hose comes out of it which you can put attachments on to do the cleaning. This means in a room with lots of furniture then it outperforms the upright because you can use the long hose to get under and around things, but it is much harder to clean large areas of open carpet with it.

Carpet cleaner: The final option is to go even deeper and go for a machine that can shampoo your carpets as well to really get the dirt out of them. You need to get one of these in addition to a normal vacuum, because I don’t know of any machines that can do both shampooing and normal cleaning, but they can be a great buy if you do get one. Over time a lot of dirt and grime gets worked into the carpet which makes it unhygienic and makes it lose its colour and look older that it really is, a carpet cleaner can bring it back to its former glory for you, and they are relatively cheap too.

The Hoover F5914-900 is a great value carpet cleaner and it is a top seller on Amazon.com at the moment.

Vacuums – Choosing The Best For You

Vacuums have been around for over a century. When the original standup models are compared to many on the market today, they actually don’t look all that different. They even function on the same principle: a motor causes suction, and the dirt and dust are then sucked into a bag. The major difference between these original models and today’s is that these older ones used disposable bags, and today’s models normally have HEPA filters that can be emptied and reused.

Of course, with modern technology comes multiple innovations in the way of style changes, sizes, power and even uses. Hand held cordless and corded models sprang up in the 70s to pick up small messes and even table crumbs. These were rechargeable and could be hung on a wall for convenient access. Having spare batteries around for your vacuum became a thing of the past.

Smaller but more powerful designs came next, sometimes called carpet sweepers. These tended to be fairly thin, lightweight models that did a wonderful job on hard floors. Later upgrades came with two power buttons; one for hard floors and another for carpeting. Although not necessarily powerful enough to pick up things like pet fur from thick piled rugs and carpets, they became a mainstay for many housewives who learned how valuable these cleaning tools could be.

Canister vacuums have been around for decades. Originally built to be carried up and downstairs, the long hose made using the included attachments a real boon for future sales. Many housewives turned in their uprights to switch to canister styles because they were easier to maneuver around furniture and tight spaces, and of course were lighter when it came to carrying upstairs and vacuuming the stairs themselves.

Later styles were developed to handle various specialties such as households with pets. These models had superior suction to help with removing pet fur from virtually any surface from the floor to the ceiling and everything in between. The filters promised to capture all pet dander and allergens and not to redistribute them back into the air. Attachments usually include brushes for furniture and small brushes made to handle window treatments and blinds.

There are even cordless vacuums that promise to hold a full charge (they work at about 15 v) for 45 minutes, usually enough time to do an entire house. These come in all sorts of sizes and models and many handle hard flooring as well as some pretty deep pile for carpeting. You can find models that either plug in for charging, or you need to recharge a battery that is then placed into the vacuum in order to use it.

Some models are convertible. You can take them apart and use them as hand helds for smaller jobs, and then put them back together to use as a full size uprights. These are usually the cordless and rechargeable models although a few of the high end vacuums give you the opportunity to take out a section to use for special projects like spot cleaning a rug or furniture, and cleaning up a table full of crumbs.

Fast And Easy Way To Clean An Oriental Rug

Oriental rugs are a great way to add style to any room. An oriental rug can be purchased in different shapes, sizes and colors so you can match any room in the house. Oriental rugs can serve as the focal point of your room.

It doesn’t take long for an oriental rug to become dirty if it is placed on the floor. In order to avoid dirt some people hang their rugs on the wall. Oriental rugs that are on the floor will need to be cleaned on a regular schedule.

To see if your oriental rug is dirty, take your hand and push firmly down into the rug pile. Gently rub your hand back and forth for at least ten seconds. If you notice dirt on your hands after doing this it is time to clean your rug.

Oriental rugs can be vacuumed easily. Be sure to vacuum the rug where it lays so you can get the dirt from deep into the fibers. This may be the only step you need to take to make sure that your rug is completely clean. Make it a point to vacuum your rug one to two times each week, depending on the traffic.

After you have vacuumed your area rug it is time to beat the rug. Beating will remove ground in loose dirt that the vacuum cleaner missed. Hang your rug outdoors in an open area. Using a rug beater, beat the rug until no more dust or debris appears. You may want to wear a disposable mask during this part of the cleaning routine.

After beating the rug it’s time to wash the rug. In order to do this, place the Oriental rug on a large open area such as a driveway or deck. Sweep the area thoroughly before placing the rug down.

Wet the rug with cool water and begin apply rug shampoo on a small area to test. Allow the shampoo to set for ten minutes and then rinse it off to see if it is safe enough to use. If there was no fading or bleaching then you can proceed.

Using a brush with stiff bristles apply the shampoo all over the damp rug and begin scrubbing. Be sure to reach the nap of the rug when scrubbing.

To clean the fringed edges of the Oriental rug you need to use a wet brush and soapy water. Simply brush the fringes with the brush. This will loosen the dirt and debris. Don’t brush toward the rug, but away.

Rinse the rug with cool water. Use a squeegee to remove excess water and then hang the rug up to dry.

You now have all the facts about area rug cleaning; so it’s time to buy your very own flokati wool area rugs; and we like to suggest you start at www.HouseOfAreaRugs.com.

The Best Way To Clean Your Carpets And Show Them Off

No one wants embarrassing stains on their carpets. Your carpets represent your home and the condition you keep it in. What are you supposed to do when you are busy and you have children or pets? Keeping the carpets clean and presentable can be quite a hassle for most people.

Should you decide to hire a carpet cleaning company to make your carpets shine again? It might surprise you to hear me say no, since I’ve been cleaning carpets professionally in Miami for over 20 years. You can do this yourself and save yourself a ton of money. Once you read this article and follow the steps I’ve outlined, you will be able to keep your carpets stunningly clean for less money than you ever would believe.

You will notice a great improvement from using a carpet cleaning company, but it only looks so impressive because the strength or suction of their equipment is so strong. You might be shocked to learn that their products leave a residue which actually attracts dirt! This will have you facing the same dilemma just a few weeks later!

Several companies, like Hoover and Bissell for example, now have top of the line carpet shampooers (that also work on plain floors) for around $200. That might sound like a lot, but it is about half the price you will be quoted by a Miami carpet cleaning company! Now you own the equipment, and it is available whenever you need to clean your carpets. It also conveniently takes up about as much space as your vacuum cleaner.

When you take into consideration the cost of cleaning supplies, you will soon see that you can clean your own carpets as often as you like for less than the cost of one appointment with a carpet cleaning company.

You will not be subjected to slave labor either. These machines are not heavy or bulky like the ones you rent at the grocery that seem impossible to get in and out of the car and into your house. Choosing a machine with rotating scrub brushes can also ensure you wont be breaking a sweat.

It is not challenging at all using this equipment to clean your carpets. Unless you move very slowly, I’d expect to finish three decent sized rooms in about an hour. Upon finishing each room be sure to use a fan to expedite the drying process. First time carpet cleaners are often freaked out by how much dirt is collected from their carpets in the process.

Spending excessive amounts of money of shampoos for your carpet is totally unnecessary. You don’t need them and they are rather expensive. Try using warm water with a teaspoon of laundry detergent. Don’t use too much detergent; you want to make sure it doesn’t foam. Be sure not to use too much water either, you don’t want the carpets to become too wet. For added cleaning strength, add some vinegar. Just repeat the process until the stains are gone.

Attachments provided with the device will clean upholstery and the carpets in your car too. Having an alternative to paying hundreds of dollars to carpet cleaners is a wonderful thing. I can guarantee it will make life more fun and stress free, especially if you have kids. So if you drop a plate of spaghetti just remember that life goes on – when you know how to clean your carpets that is.

If you hate spending money, read George Salceda’s report on how to stop using Miami carpet cleaners to clean your carpets. George has worked in the Miami carpet cleaning industry for over 20 years and knows a great deal about carpet cleaning.

Carpet Vacuuming Dos and Don’ts

Many seem to avoid vacuuming their carpeting. Preferring instead to postpone or delay the task for another day. And no big deal right? It doesn’t hurt anything to put off a task that few relish or enjoy.

Actually that’s a mistake. One that’s not good for the health of your carpet or your family. That because accumulated dust can make allergy sufferers miserable. Plus sand and grit deposited on the surface of your carpet sooner or later works it’s way to the backing where the abrasive particles cut away at the very carpet fibers themselves.

Besides did you know there’s a right and wrong way to go about vacumming? Well there is. And guess what? Most do it wrong one way or another.

Anyway, once all this is clearly explained vacuuming regularly will just make sense. As will moving it up the priority on your house cleaning to do list. Even better, here are nine simple tips for problem free yet effective vacuuming that will inspire you to vacuum regularly.

Divide your carpet into high and all other traffic areas. Vacuuming the high traffic areas like halls and stairs a couple times a week is best. While weekly is sufficient for the rest.

Most dirt that comes into your house comes in on the bottom of your shoes. Use walk mats to reduce this. Even better get everyone to leave their shoes at the door.

It helps if when vacuuming your vacuum is at its best. You can insure that by changing filter bags or filters sooner rather than later. Don’t try to save a few pennies by using obviously dirty filters or bags more than three quarters full. As clogged filtering medium is the reason the suction power of your vacuum seems to die. Typically you want to replace vacuum bags when they hit about 75% full. And the filters on bagless models like every 90 days – assuming typical usage.

Here’s the most common mistake most make – they’re in too big of a hurry. That’s right, one quick pass and they call it good. Actually it’s better to run over high traffic areas like five or six times. Giving the beater bar a chance to do it’s job and thoroughly extract the dirt.

Be sure the height setting on your vac is right. Too low and you risk damage to the vacuum itself. Too high and you’re not applying the head to the fibers to extract the dirt.

The idea is to work against the pile, if you would, to loosen the embedded dirt particles in the pile. Using the power and weight of the vacuum head to accomplish this after repeated passes over the same section.

Keep your vacuum maintained: Clean the brushes, check the belts, inspect the vacuum head regularly. Removing anything that has wrapped itself around the beater brush.

Avoid running over the cord with the vacuum. Find a central location, plug it in and keep it behind you as much as you can.

Despite the mounted light, do this job when you can see where you’re vacuuming.

Nothing beats the look of a freshly vacuumed carpet. If you have a bagless vac you can even see how much dirt, dust, hair and debris you’ve extracted from the rug. And it’s a good feeling knowing your home is clean and fresh.

Now to find out which vacuums stand out from the crowd a visit to AskTheVacuumGuy.com can help. Is there a Dirt Devil Vacuum among them? Did the Miele Capricorn make the cut? Read the reviews found at that helpful site and you’ll soon know which one best suits your needs.

How To Keep Your Rug Clean

You want to take pride in your area rugs. Cleaning them and keeping them clean is sometimes a daunting task but you have to do it. A carpet owners’ worst nightmare is when a spill happens on their expensive area rug. You want to be able to handle the clean up yourself and resist calling in a professional. This will save you a lot of money in the long run.

It’s important to prevent accidents from even happening. Don’t allow food and drinks around the area rug. This will save you a lot of work but if accidents happen you will need to be able to fix them quickly.

Vacuum your area rug on a regular basis. This will help to remove any dirt and allergens that may be embedded into the fibers. Occasionally they may rise up and get into the air and cause allergies to act up.

If a spill happens then you want to get yourself a dry cloth and some water to dilute. Pour a little water onto the spill to release the liquid from the fibers. Take your cloth and blot up the excess water. Continue to do this until the spot is dry. Allow the area to air dry to avoid mold from growing.

You can use a mild rug detergent in order to remove stains that may occur during everyday use. This will also help to keep your rug looking new and clean. There is a problem with using some rug cleaners. Over time they can cause the fibers to deteriorate and the rug will eventually fall apart. Before that happens the carpet may become weak and crumbly or it may become frayed.

Schedule a professional rug cleaner to come in and shampoo your area rug on occasion. You clean your area rug every so often and that is good but you need the cleaning power of a professional to get a deep clean. Your area rug will last longer and your family and environment will be healthier.

Now that you have all the facts about rug care, it’s time to get your own solid color area rugs. We suggest you start looking at www.HouseOfAreaRugs.com.

Deciding On The Right Vacuum Cleaner For Your Needs

When it comes to home appliances, the vacuum cleaner happens to be one of the most important you can buy. It is responsible for removing dust and dirt from your home and keeping it healthier for your family members. Today there are many models to choose from, coming from a variety of popular brands. You will need to do some research and comparisons to make sure you find the best one. Fortunately the internet makes it easy to read consumer reviews and visit manufacturer’s websites to look over all the features.

There are two main types of vacuum cleaners to consider, the upright and the canister. An upright works well if the majority of floors are carpets and a canister vacuum tends to shine on a variety of floor types. These can include hardwoods, tile, linoleum, and carpets. The design of canisters makes them easy to move around things as well so if your home is cluttered with many pieces of furniture this might be your best choice. While either type will work in any home it all comes down to what jobs will you be doing most.

Bagged or bagless is another thing you will have to decide. A bagged vacuum cleaner will use its’ bag as a filter to completely trap any dirt that gets sucked up into the machine. If the bag seals tightly against the vacuum there will be almost no chance for dust to escape. You will, however, have to buy replacement bags on a regular basis but you will be rewarded with a clean home each time you use it.

Alternatively, bagless vacuums have a dirt canister to trap the dirt while also using other filters to cleanse the air of allergens before it is passed back into your home. You won’t have to purchase replacement bags ever but you will have to clean and replace filters periodically. Plus you will notice that some dirt will escape back out onto the vacuum or floor but this is minimized by the better models in this category, such as Dyson.

A HEPA filter is also a necessity as it will trap upwards of 99% of the smallest of allergens before they escape back out into the air. These allergens include dust mites, pet dander, mold spores, and pollen. If you have allergies or asthma you will definitely want a vacuum cleaner with a high quality and proven HEPA filtration design.

Prices are another consideration as today’s vacuums have a wide range. Whether you need to spend the extra money on a better brand really depends on a couple of things, mainly how often will you be vacuuming with it and do you need the extra attachments. If your budget has the room then you should look at the better models as you tend to get what you pay for when it comes to vacuum cleaners. However, if you live in a small apartment then there is no need to buy a full sized upright with all the bells and whistles. Your needs will dictate just how much you need to spend.

Try to read some online reviews as well. You can learn a lot about each individual vacuum by reading what others think about it. Also try to visit a local store to see one in action. Maybe even talk to some friends and family members to see what they use in their own homes, and whether or not they would recommend it to you. People you know will give you an unbiased opinion and try to steer you in the right direction.

After you purchase a new cleaner you will need to follow the maintenance recommendations of the manufacturer. It’s important to keep the machine operating at a high level as this will keep the dirt out of your home. Replacement parts like belts and filters are fairly cheap so you should follow the owner’s manual for suggestions.

To start researching vacuum cleaners on the internet visit totalvacuums.com. You can read reviews and compare models quickly, which will enable you to find the best choice for your needs.
