Replaced My Old Vacuum With A Dyson Vacuum Cleaner
With most vacuum cleaners there is an increase in price as you get better performance. To be honest the Dyson vacuum cleaner is no different. You might pay a bit more for a Dyson but it is well worth it as far as I’m concerned.
Most people are interested in the warranty options that come with a new unit but there are refurbished units available also. The warranty options vary so you will want to check on that. But the refurbished units are a way to get a great Dyson vacuum at a lower price.
My vacuum that I had used for many years finally died and I decided to spoil myself a little. After a good bit of shopping around I decided to buy a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Okay what actually happened was I loaned out my old vacuum to a friend and it never quite worked right when I finally got it back.
When I got the Dyson vacuum cleaner home it was pretty much ready to go right out of the box. There was very little assembly that I had to do. I needed to attach the removable hose and wand, snap a few included attachments on to the vacuum for later use and I was vacuuming with a Dyson in just a few minutes.
I’ll admit it, I’m somewhat of a vacuum freak. My carpets have to be clean. I probable use the vacuum every day in some room. I have been hearing good things about the Dyson for years so I was a little bit excited to finally be trying one out for myself.
I immediately put the new Dyson vacuum to the test. The first test was the living room, heavy traffic area to say the least. The dirt collection tube collected a swirling mass of debris. When I finished vacuuming I turned off the machine and the debris settled. At the bottom of the dirt collection tube was a half inch of dirt and dust. Settled on the dirt was four inches of hair, lint, crumbs and threads.
I was not surprised at the results because I had been without a vacuum for about a week. The real surprise came when I vacuumed the same area with the Dyson vacuum a few days later. I was surprised at the amount of dirt and debris the Dyson vacuum cleaner was able to pull up. It was not as much as the first time but it was quite a bit.
So if your vacuum quits and you are looking for a replacement I recommend the Dyson vacuum cleaner as your next vacuum. It does cost a little more but the results are totally worth it. Actually the money that you will save on bags will eventually pay for the Dyson vacuum cleaner. It weighs the same as any upright vacuum. With the attachments you can vacuum any part of your home.

DC07 All Floors
Unlike the wheels that most vacuums have, the Dyson DC07 All-Floors Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner has a large yellow ball that will allow the vacuum to pivot and roll with ease. The DC07 will allow the user to simple turn a wrist and the entire vacuum cleaner will change direction. The ability to maneuver this easily is something that is commonly associated with canister style vacuum cleaners.
With the Dyson DC07, the air and dirt are sucked into the container where the outer cyclone removes large particles such as food, hair, and fibers. The air will then move into the shroud and inner cyclone where it is rotated with a higher velocity to drop fine particles of dust out of the air.
After the air has gone through the motor then it continues to the final stage of the system, the HEPA filter. The Dyson DC07 All-Floors Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner has a very strict filter system, which will prevent 99.9% of bacteria and mold from staying in you home. The vacuum will collect it and keep it inside the vacuum where it belongs.

Dyson DC07 Origin video + review
My Dyson DC07 Origin – bought brand new from Debenhams on 5th November 2008. Reduced in the pre-Christmas sale, it cost just £140.
Although now discontinued, in my opinion, this was one of the best cleaners in Dyson’s recent range. It was the most basic, without the clutch control option.
The lack of a clutch means that it uses the round brush-roll, which seems to give superior performance to the helix brush used on the more ‘deluxe’ models. With stiffer bristles, it appears to groom the carpet better, and does a much better job of raising trodden-down nap.
I use this cleaner almost daily, and I’m very happy with its performance so far. It has excellent suction, and although it lacks some of the ergonomic and functional refinements introduced on the DC14, it’s still a very useable cleaner. If you can get one new (and thus, with the 5-year warranty) for as low a price as I did, it’s a must-have!

- The yellow-topped cyclone embly is the one which came with the cleaner.
- The red-topped one comes from my older DC07 Low Reach +HEPA.
Aside from the colours, at a glance, they both look identical, but see what difference in sound the 2 root-cyclone designs make?

Dyson Soft Dusting Brush
The Dyson Soft Dusting Brush –
I LOVE this tool! I use it all the time – it works very well for dusting any flat surface, window-blinds, TV screens, etc.
I do find the suction with the DC07/DC14 is a little too strong for it – it glues itself down onto the surface, and the dust can’t get through the bristles. However, here’s a little trick: unclip the blockage-check valve at the side of the machine, and rest it back into place, but don’t click it down. This should halve the suction and make the tools – especially the Soft Dusting Brush – much more usable!
