Can anyone recommend an alternative to a Dyson vacuum cleaner please?
They are a bit on the expensive side any suggestions would be welcome, thanks
for IANHAD I know there are dozens out there that's why I asked the question you t**t!!
The Dyson is expensive i know, but you get what you pay for, so to speak.
if you buy a cheaper on it wont be as good and it wont last as long then you will have to buy another one so save a bit longer and go for the best and dyson have a 5 year guarantee and will fix it for you for free

There are dozens of other brands out there, just look. I mean, have you never heard of HOOVER?

Depends what market you are in. You can always get a Kirby if you are looking for a long term expensive cleaner. Otherwise, I’d recommend a Bissell upright (think I got it from Wal-mart). Still has serious suction power after a number of years.
PS – I’d stay away from bag-less vacuums but that’s just my opinion. Regards.

Why not try a Henry Hoover vacuum cleaner. They have a cute face that u cant help but love, a really really REALLY long hose so basically u dont need to keep unplugging the hoover as u can just reach really far without unplugging it, also they’re very very quiet. Cleaners always use and recommend these hoovers and they should know the best ones i’d have thought! They’re not that dear either, around £130 summat like that, tops id have thought. Or u could get Henrietta his pink sister, thats the one im gonna get on payday! How cute!

Roxy, you beat me to it! I’ll just add that Henrys are used where I work – they never break down and the cleaners love them. There’s a lovely long flex too, along with that great hose. It’ll be my next one, for sure.

I’ve been happy with my Bissel upright bagless machine. And when I worked as a housekeeper, the Dirt Devils were good- but not well able to handle the huge work load. Still, I imagine they would work well for a private home.
Good luck!

Agree with Tigg. Love my Bissell bagless, $45 Wallyworld. Really sucks.

I have a bissell bagless that i have had for 2 yrs and it still works great!
The trick with bagless is to keep the filters clean. I bought an extra set and can take dirty out put clean in every couple weeks.
M-I-L has a kirby and I can vacuum immediatly after her and come up with a container of dirt!
She has actually had me save the dirt so she could see. LOL

Hi, A friend who has pets bought a Eureka boss smart vac ultra 4870 and she loves it. She said it was recommended by a leading consumer magazine and rated right up there with higher priced vacuums. It was priced around 150.00 and really cleans carpets and bare floors with the flick of a switch. Has hepa filtration, 8 carpet settings, convenient tools and ability to control suction when using tools. Hope this helps.

I recommend a Henry. I got mine on Amazon for just under £100 and it works brilliantly. I was trying to work out what to get when I finally had my house carpeted earlier this year and after searching for ages, realised that almost everywhere I worked, they had a Henry. I currently work in West End Theatre, but have also toured to schools and other theatres around the county and almost all have a Henry. I have a black cat which sheds fur, and beige carpets. The Henry gets all the fur off. It is great for things like sawdust and cat litter too.
Just checked and amazon have them for £89.
