Sick of your Dyson??
I want other people's comments on Dyson's , I hate mine I have had two by the way and I only bought the last one because it was a nice colour .. my husband says they are design over function……he hates them
now I cannot deny that the bagless bit was a good invention.. but my first DC04 had an electrical fault and kepting turning on and off and the suction was better a certain times than others (never lose suction…my bottom) , its filters were washed a changed correctly and all the pipes cleaned on a regular basis.
My second DC07 well it was back to the old rubbish of poor suction at times and then fine the next time it was turned on.. I even bought a new hepa filter for it…. which by the way you cannot normally buy and have to be asked twenty questions before they will sell you one … because they think it has some sort of life time wear etc, but even now suction varies.
My other bagless Hoover never behaves in this way ….
Do you think the Dyson can sense I hate it ?
I brought a Dyson, my first, 5 yrs ago, and I remember thinking at the time it was great, then it just didn't seem to function quite so well, but it was 4 yrs old and had many broken features. So,
i brought a cheaper bagless cleaner 6 months ago, used it for a few months, but it never really did the job and ended up using my old Dyson, I then brought a new dyson and have not looked back…….!
Mother in law has just had her 4 year old Dyson serviced and it now works as good as new.
I think they really are the best and will never buy a different make again!

We had two Dysons and both were rubbish, electrical faults, awkward to carry up the stairs (one of them) and strangely just didn't seem to suck up dirt on our carpet. We were really shocked when everyone was going on about them, but no I feel the same way. We wouldn't buy another one!

Had two dysons, they both fell to bits, cant cope with pet hair.
I bought a Henry, I fit fire alarms in office buildings.
All the cleaners use them, I have never seen a dyson used commercially which has got to say something about them….

I totally understand where you are coming from, totally overrated and over priced! I have a really old DC07 which I have never had a problem with, but this year I brought a Dyson Animal Cylinder which is total rubbish, my DC07 which is 7 years old and has loads of wear and tear is loads better then the new one, also in the which magazine the Miele animal hover came out best and it half the price!

thing is,unless a pipe/tube is cracked or blocked in any way,it CANT loose suction, strange, because changing the filters and assuming the motor isnt badly worn, should do the trick,i had an original dc01 and it kept going for years, just bought a dc14 animal and it almost pulls the carpet off the floor! i suppose the rubber seals could leak air after time, which will add to loss of suction.e-mail mr dyson,im sure he'd be interested

I got an upright dyson when they first came out and it was brilliant. It still works but I thought I would get a newer model with an Hepa filter. What a load of crap. After only a few months this DC07 won't click back onto the upright position, the suction has gone, yet there is no blockage. I think the problem is they are no longer made in the UK, but by ignorant, uninformed individuals in some cheap far-flung part of the world.

Dyson didn't have much to beat with the bag type machines which blew dust everywhere.
My Dyson causes dust as well.
But in defence of Hoover, electrically they were better machines…with a wee rubber drive belt to replace now and again

Orr Dyson and it works ok. Not had a problem with it and vacuums really well. My Nan has a really old one which still works but the suction isn't as good. The only problem with the Dyson is it's a bit heavy.

I have had a Dyson for 9 years, I took out the extended warranty so have been able to replace the parts that have been damaged over the years, apart from that I have had no problems at all.
3 Dogs and 2 children in the house so it gets a lot of use.

Usual problem why they lose suction and so many people have problems with them is the filters are never cleaned. I get broken ones and refurbish them and 99% of the time I pull out the filter and its totally blocked. Why dont people read instruction books and clean a filter when required or when they think suction isnt so good.

I have had a Dyson DC-7 for about 6 years now. Mine also lost suction after a while. After some Internet research I found a site that explained that the Cyclones can become clogged with fine dust over time, like dust from sanding plaster – which is exactly what I had been sucking up. The site has a nice step by step guide on dismantling and cleaning. That made a world of difference – as good as new. In the last 6 years I have cleaned it 3 times and it is still going strong.

I’ve had my DC07 for 5 years and I still love it. I have 3 dogs and it gets a work out. The best thing is I got a great price on it. I got 20% off using a coupon, and then the store gave me a $100 gift card to use in the store. So, it only cost me $220. The only thing I’d like is if it would fit under my bed.
